Shell Eco-Marathon Americas
We competed at the Shell Eco-Marathon Americas 2025 held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from April 1-7. SEMA is an ultra-efficiency supermileage competition where teams from all across the Americas come to compete in categories such as internal-combustion engine, battery electric, and hydrogen fuel-cell.
We are very proud to present our results:
We have placed 1st place in the Prototype Hydrogen Fuel Cell category with an efficiency of 213 km/m3, approximately 2,370 km on 1 kg of hydrogen.
We were the 1st team in the Hydrogen category to pass Technical and Safety Inspections!
We were selected by the Shell Media Team to be featured and interviewed consistently throughout the whole week!
We handed out hundreds of ‘EcoCar’ friendship bracelets to all of the other teams present at the competition!
Our team faced challenges that previous years had never faced before. Extreme weather conditions affected our efficiency and limited the amount of time we could compete on the track. While these adverse weather and significant schedule disruptions meant we didn’t have the opportunity to fully showcase our vehicle’s potential, we leave this year’s competition with immense pride in what we’ve accomplished both technically and as a team. We managed to complete 5 attempts around the track and improved our efficiency with every attempt. While we celebrate our 1st place victory, we are looking forward to optimizing Sally and improving the car for next year. A sincere thank you to every member of EcoCar for the hundreds of hours dedicated to this project and your unwavering passion and commitment. Your work is the driving force behind everything we do.
